About the Artist: Clark Thenhaus is founding director of Oakland, California based Endemic Architecture. Thenhaus is a recipient of The Architects Newspaper Best of Design 2017 award, a 2015 Architectural League Prize for Young Architects & Designers winner and a 2014 MacDowell Art Colony Fellow. Endemic Architecture’s work has been widely exhibited, including at Parsons The New School gallery, A+D Museum, Jai & Jai Gallery, University of Calgary, Harvard GSD, Yale School of Architecture, and AIA San Francisco among others. Thenhaus has delivered numerous lectures on his work and has been published in Project Journal, JAE, the Wall Street Journal, Architects Newspaper, Architect Magazine, Thresholds Journal, and POOL among others. Thenhaus is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the California College of the Arts and has previously held teaching appointments at the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, University of Colorado, and Otis College of Art and Design. Thenhaus earned his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied as three-year Fideli Fellow, and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
