the challenge with the works below was the thickness and the geometric shape in a 2d form. for this piece to be made i had to 3d model the “masters”, 3d print them and then cast them in silicon molds. because of the wall thickness i had to experimented with concrete types and mixes. i eventually came to the correct batch with the proper strength and viscosity.
what the coasters?!
materials the what the coasters?! are made from high quality cast concrete.
materials the what the taps?! are custom 3d modeled beer tap handles made from high quality white pla with an internal brass thread size of 3/8" - 16. for this piece, i wanted to create a geometric and cylindrical sculpture that just so happen to be a beer tap.
