mapping a reference vernacular

the blocks use the rich but overshadowed history of textiles, and quilting in particular, as a framework to compose texture maps of conspicuous objects. they are diagrams following patterns with long histories, assembled with content research that focuses on the micro-collections at play in architectural practice: the reference frameworks of existing histories and theories operating for the architect, and the reference vernacular of objects surrounding the architect.
