outpost office is ashley bigham and erik herrmann. their work in the impermanent collection is titled “another villa”. ashley bigham is an assistant professor of architecture at the knowlton school and co-director of outpost office. she was the 2015-2016 walter b. sanders fellow at the university of michigan’s taubman college of architecture and urban planning. in 2014, bigham was a fulbright research fellow at the center for urban history of east central europe in lviv, ukraine.
erik herrmann is an assistant professor of architecture at the knowlton school and co-director of outpost office. he was the 2016-2017 walter b. sanders fellow in architecture at the university of michigan, taubman college of architecture and urban planning. in 2015, herrmann was a german chancellor’s fellow of the alexander von humboldt foundation at the institute for computational design (icd) at the university of stuttgart.
the work and writing of outpost office have been featured in architectural publications including metropolis, mark magazine, places journal, plat, studio, pool, avery shorts and clog and venues including the harvard graduate school of design, princeton school of architecture, yale school of architecture, milwaukee art museum and a forthcoming exhibition at the cooper union.
