artist info

human-generated waste has covered the earth. aj atelier turns its attention to the multiple causes and effects of an excessive consumption society, which permeates contemporary social habits. we seek to generate significant and revolutionary motivations in the way we create and consume objects, which are part of our daily life. aj atelier nourishes itself practicing kind and honest processes to create objects. rugs are pieces that live more than one life, passing from generation to generation. we want to open opportunities to relate with the amazement and surprises of the natural rhythm of productions; promoting non-accumulation by following the on-demand format with almost no stock holding. the process generates profound relationships stimulating a practice that enhances the common good. we believe and love working directly with local artists, owners of their craft and original production techniques. this is why we don't use commercial brokers or intermediaries, so that each item is realistically and fairly priced. we are involved in the exchange of knowledge and the disruption of ideas, without getting involved in the habit of speed or serial productions; we celebrate the interconnection of everything that exist in the universe.

“we believe that happiness is related to nurturing the network that is part of the change, in addition to contemplating beauty in what surrounds us. we respect the natural process of small productions. each object is created with different times and ways of doing, determined by independent workshops with which we collaborate. nature inspires us people trades and artisans the genuine. “
